ACCOMMODATION: TUI BLUE BAHARI ZANZIBAR 5*

TUI Blue Bahari Zanzibar is a luxurious resort set on the beach of Kiwengwa on the North East Coast of Zanzibar. The resort is nestled in exotic gardens on the beachfront at Pwani Machangani overlooking the Indian Ocean. The property features Dream Spa which provides oriental treatments. There is also a watersport and diving centre.

Every room is fitted with luxury furnishings and has a spacious private terrace. It comes equipped with a satellite TV, mini-bar and tea-and-coffee-making facilities. The private bathroom has a shower and free toiletries are provided.

The resort offers a choice of five different restaurants, all offering a variety of dining options, and three bars for refreshing beverages.

Flights have been booked from Johannesburg directly to Zanzibar.

Hand Baggage

In addition to the checked baggage allowance, Safair allows each passenger with two free carry-on bags. The larger of the two should not weigh more than 7kg. This bag must fit in the storage compartment in the cabin. The smaller of the two should not exceed 40cm x 15cm x 20cm, and must fit under the seat in front of you.

Checked Baggage

Momentum has pre-purchased one piece of checked baggage per person with a maximum weight of 20kg.

The maximum dimensions of any one piece of baggage permitted are: (H) 90cm + (W) 75cm + (L) 43cm (including handle, wheels and pockets).

LIQUID, AEROSOLS AND GELS (LAGS)

You may have heard of LAGs, but what exactly are they?

LAGs stands for Liquid, Aerosols and Gels and refers to new International safety regulations that limit the quantity of these items allowed in your hand luggage on international flights.

If you have LAGs in your hand luggage they MUST be in a clear plastic Ziploc bag and containers may not exceed 100ml each (with a maximum of 1 litre in total in the bag).

ITINERARY

Depart in the evening from O.R. Tambo International airport for Zanzibar.

On arrival in Zanzibar just after mid-night transfer to the Tui Blue Bahari Zanzibar. Your room will be ready and waiting for you. Enjoy your first night’s sleep in magical Zanzibar.

Wake-up refreshed after your flight and enjoy breakfast at the resort. You have the day at leisure to relax and enjoy the facilities at the resort.

Tonight, enjoy a delicious Zanzibar welcome as you have dinner around the pool at the resort.

Overnight: Tui Blue Behari Zanzibar 5*

After breakfast, it is time to discover Stone Town.

Dress code: Casual. Shoulders should be covered. Closed shoes are recommended.

Return to the resort in time for lunch.

This evening, experience the best sunset you will ever see as you cruise along the shores of Zanzibar on a traditional Dhow. Dinner will be served after the cruise at the resort.

Overnight: Tui Blue Behari Zanzibar 5*

Today it is time to discover the sea side of Zanzibar as you cruise out of Menai Bay into the deep blue sea. Be greeted by dolphins, snorkel and discover the beauty under the surface and enjoy a delicious seafood lunch on a private island.

Dress code: Casual. Remember your swim suit, sun hat and sun screen!

Return to the resort in the afternoon.

Bid Zanzibar farewell as you enjoy a barbeque dinner with your feet in the sand on the resort beach.

Enjoy your last day in Zanzibar at your leisure at the resort. Swim, snorkel or take a nap.

After dinner, transfer to the airport and check in for your flight home.

Depart Zanzibar in the early hours of the morning for Johannesburg.

Clothing

Zanzibar is hot and humid so our advice is to pack lightweight, loose-fitting clothes in natural fabrics such as linen, silk, bamboo and cotton that will keep you cool.

The most practical items to pack for your island adventure are:

Medical

Pack a small bag or medical kit with some pain killers, any chronic medications (enough for the trip), any vitamins etc. Remember to take a copy of your script for prescribed medication.

Money Matters

The Tanzanian Shilling is the official currency of Tanzania, but US dollars are also widely accepted in tourist areas. Dollar notes printed before 2009 are usually not accepted. You can exchange money at many authorised dealers, banks and bureaux de change. Credit cards are accepted at certain places.
